

What does it take to grow a rewarding career?

But it’s not all up to an individual. Sometimes it also takes a healthy working environment to cultivate employee satisfaction, provide flexibility, help them learn, and challenge them to grow.
One of the best examples of personal motivation and a good company fit is Frederik de Boeck, who has been an indispensable part of the boobook team since 2015. Before joining boobook, Frederik worked at Ipsos, as a data analyst. He mastered all the basics of data analytics, from conjoint, driver methodology, market research, research methodology, data analysis, data processing, data interpretation, and consulting. Considering his strong skill set and experience, he took the role of a Senior Data Scientist at boobook. A month ago, his career path got a little bit more exciting as he got promoted to Strategic Analytics Director.

“Due to COVID, boobook has gone through a substantial transformation. The crisis forced us to take the time to refocus and build a more agile company. This promotion confirms the evolution that’s been happening since the last two, three years of being a senior data scientist. The new job won’t be too different from the previous one; it will still require a lot of analytical thinking and finding the meaning behind the analytics,” explains Frederik.
Frederik has been steadily expanding his knowledge and confidence within boobook, honing his skills on many extensive projects. Nicole Huyghe, CEO at boobook, understands the value that Frederik brings to the table.
“Frederik is one of the exceptional analytical minds who excels both in data science as well as business acumen. Over the past six years, he steadily grew from an excellent data scientist into an all-rounded strategic consumer understanding analyst and consultant. He finds the right balance between what I call “creative and sensible” analytics which helps him deliver great results,” says Nicole.
Even though the titles changed, his problem-solving mindset and determination never changed. That helped him build a strong foundation for his future professional development. “You could say I grew with my role, within boobook. It’s rewarding to see my contribution is appreciated and how my role evolved gradually from data science and consultancy to becoming a Strategic Analytics Director. With this new role, there are new responsibilities, but I’m happy to embrace them and continue to do my best to keep our clients satisfied,” concludes Frederik.
